The Provider

Meet the Owner

Megan Baerny is the owner of Repose and a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Seattle Pacific University in 2007, she began her nursing career as a medical cardiology floor nurse at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She then transitioned to the care of complex patients in the medical intensive care unit (MICU) for several years before relocating to the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) in her hometown of Seattle, where she resumed her care of ICU patients.

A three-month internship at La Clinica Cardiovascular, in Medellin, Colombia, marked Megan’s first exposure to anesthesia. After spending the work week in the ICU, she would venture into rural Colombia, where she worked hand-in-hand with an anesthesiologist in a women’s health clinic. There she witnessed first-hand not only a mastery of human physiology and pharmacology but also the awe-inspiring trust patients routinely placed in their anesthesia provider to care for them during their most vulnerable moments. Megan had found her true calling.

After earning her master’s degree in anesthesia from Kaiser Permanente School of Anesthesia in Los Angeles, Megan returned to UWMC as a CRNA in 2016. After many years in the academic setting, providing anesthesia to patients of nearly all surgical disciplines, Megan recently relocated to Portland, Oregon. Her desire to treat patients outside the confines of an operating room, while providing continuity of care in an intimate setting led her to found Repose in 2020.

When not in the clinic, Megan enjoys any and all outside hobbies, most notably hiking and cycling. She recently completed both the Seattle to Portland (STP) and Ride Seattle to Vancouver and Party (RSVP) bike rides. She also enjoys cooking and relaxing with her fiancé and her dogs James (doodle) and Lucy (French Bulldog).
